Knitted Hat

Hello! Our first knit-a-long will be a hat.

But before we start, I want you to know this will be different. This may be an entirely new knitting experience for you.

I knit by feeling, by inspiration and by personal preference.  So, if I suggest you knit 10 rows for your brim, but you like the look of 8 rows or 12 rows, please go with what you want. There are no rules. You are knitting, designing and creating for you.

I will be knitting along with you! We will be knitting in the round, but if you prefer knitting on straight needles, that is fine with me.  Just let me know and together we will adapt the pattern. This knit a-long is all about you, and for you.

I live in Canada, so I use 6mm needles. That is size 10 for others. We will be using worsted weight. The colour will be whatever you want. I am using winter white.

We will be knitting with double strands. January is a cold month and this hat is knit to keep you warm. You will also need a stitch marker, scissors, a darning needle and a pompom maker.  If you don’t want a pompom, that is fine as well.

Remember…..this project is for you. It’s all about starting the new year off with some creativity, inspiration and fun. Gather up your tools and in my next video we will get knitting.
